Elizabeth Holmes, NYT bestselling author, multimedia reporter, and royal style watcher extraordinaire, shouted out her new Blue Parakeet Rugs find in her popular So Many Thoughts newsletter.

On the topic of making a new LA house feel like home, she writes, “My favorite things in my new home are old. Very old. And they embody so much of what feels immensely precious right now — the beauty, uniqueness, and preciousness of time.” Elizabeth says her designer, Jillian Sipkins, “won her over with vintage rugs,” which happen to be our favorite antiques as well. We hosted a Rug ’N Roll personal in-home shopping experience with handpicked rugs Elizabeth would love. The winning rug for the dining room was a colorful explosion of paisleys and florals that is as old as it is enchanting.

She writes, “We put another with the dreamiest floral border under our dining table (from Blue Parakeet Rugs, she’s incredible).” Another match made in rug heaven by Sheba!

Vintage rugs “draw your eye with their character, which then radiates upward to fill the space. I find myself daydreaming about these rugs and their past lives, what rooms they filled before ours,” Elizabeth says, speaking to the mystical power woven into their very yarns.
