Blue Parakeet Rugs Heriz Shines in Dee Murphy's CA Home + Design Photo Tour

Big news for fans of perfectly put together style whiz Dee Murphy and of Blue Prakeet Rugs! California Home + Design took its readers inside a Larchmont Village Bungalow reimagined from the ground up by Dee, or more precisely, from the dining room out. “The dining room’s striking wallpaper—Timorous Beasties’ Seaweed Column—orchestrated its vibrant color scheme and festive mood,” explains author Abigail Stone. We love a bold inspiration for a space, and Dee did the most with this one, creating a comfortable and whimsical home whose spaces are a harmony of color.

The main attraction, and the site of our curated Rug N Roll just for Dee, is the living room. Front and center is a luscious Persian Heriz in ivory, crimson and blue. Stone writes, “There’s the vintage rug, which picks up the wallpaper’s spirited crimson and acknowledges its undulating pattern; and the curves of the lounge chair, which nod to the strong lines of the dining room’s seating.” The curved sofa and Spindle Back Viewing Chair from Nickey Kehoe work beautifully with the colors and forms of the oversized Heriz. In the final print reveal, we noticed the fun wall-mounted arcade game that was installed after our Rug N Roll!

Dee also picked out a Blue Parakeets Rugs runner for the second floor. Working with Dee is always a joy and an adventure. Sheba still recalls one week when Dee wowed a roomful of elite designers and decor influencers, “and just days later, she’s creating this amazing window display at Gracie with one of my rugs!” Dee’s energy is limitless, and her work is always an inspiration.
