The Eagle Rock Japandi beauty by @a1000xBetter got another feature from a top media outlet, and this time it’s HGTV! This cozy and sophisticated home was previously featured in Sunset magazine, and we’re not surprised design lovers and experts are continuing to go wild for it. HGTV’s Kassondra Close sat down with designer Kirsten Blazek from a1000xBetter for the feature “Chill Japandi Vibes Rule in This Los Angeles Home,” which takes you step by step through the genius thinking behind this design.

A top goal of the project was to transform a new build into a soulful, stylish home that feels lived-in, and key to that was filling the space with curated vintage pieces, especially vintage rugs! As HGTV notes, “Throughout the home, most of the rugs used in the staging were vintage pieces sourced from Blue Parakeet Rugs, which curates century-old pieces. To bring ‘soul’ into a new build, Kirsten says she likes to use as much vintage furniture as possible.”

We are still stunned by how just-so perfectly this house turned out, and we’re not alone. As Kirsten says, the home sold very quickly and at $600k over the asking price. If you’re looking for ideas to add value and soul to your space, get your inspiration from the very best over at HGTV.
